Trending this Season: Checks

Checks are making a comeback this Winter and for good reason. This classic pattern adds a rugged yet refined touch to any outfit. The check trend is all about embracing a more relaxed, laid-back look while still looking put-together.

Big or small, subtle or bold, a checked piece is the perfect way to add some flair to your outfit. If you tend to keep things plain but want to wear a little more colour day to day, the right check jacket, blazer, or pant will slide seamlessly into your wardrobe. Not to mention, check shirts are a good layering staple too!

Let’s look at some of our favourite checks for the season…

Is a wardrobe ever complete without at least one check shirt?

Choose between a classic plaid, gingham, or buffalo check, and style with your favourite pair of jeans and a puffer vest for a casual Sunday look.

The Weston Check Shirt has fast become a favourite – tuck it into stone or navy chinos for an office-ready outfit, complete with matching belt and dress shoes. The blue and red checks also look great under your navy blazer for more formal days.

For those who prefer to keep their wardrobe neutral, the Royce Check Shirt can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Just as much at home at the pub, or by the campfire, all you need is a pair of black jeans, coat, and boots to complete your warm winter look.

It’s time to bring out a check blazer, of course! Layer the Aspen Check Stretch Blazer over your button up shirt and chinos. The great thing about this check is that its not too busy, so you don’t have to worry about pairing it with a shirt that also has a print or pattern, although our Oxford Shirt is always a winner. The same goes for the Elio Check Stretch Blazer, but we love to pair this one with a smart polo for a modern formal look.

Whether it’s the races, a wedding, or a big presentation, set yourself apart in a check suit. You can’t go wrong with the Damon Check Suit in navy. With a subtle all-over plaid check pattern and available in a Suit Jacket, Dress Pants and Waistcoat, you can wear this time and time again!
